You’ll find our most common answers below — organised by service so you can quickly get the information you need.
DRIVEWAY CLEANING & RESTORATION
Do you clean all driveway types?
Yes — we clean block paving, tarmac/asphalt, natural stone, resin-bound, and patterned concrete. Each surface has a tailored method to protect the structure while revitalising colour and appearance.
Can you restore the original colour of my driveway?
In most cases, yes. Our deep clean combined with SmartSeal™ sealers helps restore the natural colour and prevent future fading. We also offer colour transformations for block paving, tarmac and PIC driveways.
Do you seal the driveway after cleaning?
We recommend sealing for long-term protection. Sealing protects against weeds, algae growth, UV fading, oil staining and water ingress — keeping your driveway looking freshly restored for years.
How long does driveway cleaning take?
Most residential jobs take between 2–6 hours depending on size and condition. Larger or heavily soiled areas may require additional time.
Is sealing included in the quote?
Yes, if requested. Our quotes can include:
• cleaning only
• cleaning + re-sand (block paving)
• cleaning + sealing
• full colour restoration

ROOF CLEANING & MOSS REMOVAL
Do you pressure wash roofs?
No — we never pressure wash roofs. It can damage tiles and void warranties.
We use approved soft washing methods, biocide treatments and safe manual moss removal.
Is roof cleaning safe for my tiles?
Yes. We tailor the method to the roof type (concrete, clay, slate, fibre cement, felt, etc.) to ensure full protection.
Will moss grow back after treatment?
Our biocide continues working for up to 12–18 months, dramatically slowing regrowth. Regular maintenance treatments can keep the roof clear long term.
Can you change the colour of my roof?
Yes — we offer roof coating/colour restoration using SmartSeal™ Roof Coatings. Available in multiple colours (charcoal, slate grey, terracotta, etc.).
Will you need scaffolding?
Not always. Most domestic roofs can be safely accessed with ladders and harnesses. If scaffolding or a cherry picker is required, we will advise during quoting.
How do I know if my roof actually needs cleaning?
Most roofs show warning signs long before leaks or damage occur. If you’re noticing moss build-up, lichen spots, discolouration, debris in gutters, or patches that stay damp for longer than the rest of the roof, it’s a strong indicator that cleaning is needed. Regular maintenance not only improves appearance but also protects tiles from long-term deterioration. If you’re unsure, we can assess it for you and let you know exactly what’s required
Will roof cleaning help improve my home’s energy efficiency?
Yes — especially on heavily mossed or darkened roofs. Moss and algae trap moisture, stopping tiles from properly insulating your home. Once removed, your roof can dry evenly, reflect heat the way it was designed to, and improve airflow. This can help stabilise temperatures inside your home and support overall energy efficiency.
Can you clean roofs on older or more delicate properties?
Absolutely. We regularly work on older homes, cottages, period properties and delicate tile types. We use non-abrasive, low-pressure cleaning methods paired with a professional biocide treatment to ensure complete moss removal without causing any damage. Every roof is assessed beforehand so we can tailor the safest, most effective approach.
Will cleaning my roof affect my warranty or home insurance?
In most cases, professional roof cleaning protects your warranty and insurance position rather than harming it. Many insurers actually expect homeowners to maintain their roof to prevent moss-related damage. Our process avoids high-pressure washing, which is the main cause of warranty issues. If you’re unsure, we can advise you based on your specific roof type and any existing cover.
How long does it take for the biocide treatment to fully work?
Biocide begins working immediately, killing all remaining moss, algae and spores after the manual removal stage. You’ll usually notice the roof continuing to lighten over 2–8 weeks, with full results developing over several months. This slow, natural cleaning process ensures deep, long-lasting protection without damaging tiles.
Do you offer regular maintenance plans after the initial roof clean?
Yes. Many customers choose an annual or bi-annual maintenance treatment to keep their roof looking clean and to prevent moss regrowth. Regular biocide applications significantly extend the lifespan of your roof, reduce future cleaning costs and keep your home looking its best year-round. We can recommend the ideal schedule based on your property and surroundings.
